Scott Johnson

American Artist. b 1977

Born in 1977 in the San Francisco Bay Area, Scott focuses much of his artwork on the local landscapes of his California home. Painting exclusively in oils, he strives to capture the world in a style known as impressionistic realism. Though much of his work comes from the iconic areas surrounding the area, Scott draws much of his inspiration from the more "off the beaten path" scenes.

Scott works directly from nature as much as possible. Capturing the effect of light, the values, the colors that can only be seen in person.

As a child, art was a constant companion. Spending countless hours drawing and painting. Though it wasn't until much later in his life that art as a daily endeavors came into focus.

Scott has had the fortune of studying under some of the world's foremost contemporary landscape and plein air artists such as Joe Paquet and Marc Dalessio.

Historical inspiration comes from artists such as John Singer Sargent, Issak Levitan, Joaquín Sorolla and Ivan Shishkin.
